People interfere with their strong emotions, that can corrupt to their ability to perceive reality accurately. That’s why it’s always been a problem to make decisions, when you’re emotionally involved into a situation of your life. Feelings such as fear, anger, guilty, shame, frustration or loneliness block you from thinking clearly, causing you to mistake when taking a decision. I’ll provide you some simple exercises to help you make decisions fast and easy.
Clear your mind first, and try to become relaxed before acting. Important decisions should be made when you’re clearheaded and rational, not when you’re overly optimistic or pessimistic. Your feelings have a powerful intelligence of their own that can assist you in making sound decisions. One of the best ways to bring more truth into your life and your decisions, is to conduct a quick self-assessment. You’ll need a paper, to sit down and write a few things, most important, that are part of your life. Using a scale from 1 to 10 would be the best. A 10 means you’re absolutely experiencing what you desire, and it really is one of the best points in your life. The first point, is when you have to experience something, that you really want to escape from. Now, after you’ve written down all these things, if you’re about to make a decision, do it when you’re facing the area in your life, from the 5th point to 10.That means you’re admitting yourself to make decisions when you’re emotionally positive. I mean, if you’re now living the first point, this means, you have to do things, that you don’t want to – you just need to. If you’re in the first 1 to 5 points, then obviously you don’t have what you really want in that area, and you’re becoming a little pessimist. In this position, you probably can see your weakest spots, that you most often succumb to falsehood and denial, since these are the most difficult areas to face. These areas you can’t improve until you face and accept the truth & the change.
Habits & daily routine are the ones that let you either grow, either stop you from growing consciously. You must deliberately decide what parts of your life you will strengthen and which you’ll allow to weaken. Your decisions make your choices, and it will determine the shape of your life. In the long run, your life becomes a reflection of what decisions you make.
Usually, people think they are obsessed with thinking about how they look, what they sound like, or what others might think of them. But the focus goes exactly on the communication, on the topics people discuss about, that influence them on making decisions. People that surround us, are the ones that have a big percent into taking important decisions into our life.
After you’ve done all that, gather as much information as you can about each alternative, and decide what’s the best for you. For every choice, big or small, there’s no easy formula for making the right decision. The best you can do is to approach it from as many perspectives as possible and then choose a course of action that seems reasonable and balanced.
